Bottom line, young people shouldn’t be voting.
When you’re that young you’re nothing more than an ignorant ball of hormones that cares more about appearing “cool” than acting responsible—thus Obama’s victory.
Young people haven’t suffered enough; young people haven’t failed enough; young people haven’t had life poke them in the eye and curse their ugliness all while sipping on a tumbler of cranberry vodka.
I read a comment on-line from a young person who was thrilled that she voted for the first time and that her vote counted. I replied by explaining her feeling will quickly wear off. After all, most elections are between the lesser of two evils and most elections lack historical significance.
In addition to voting for Obama, college age voters were mobilized and organized and helped campaigned. This is a luxury Republicans can’t afford. College students have nothing but time, Republicans are busy working.
