Tonight on American Idol the contestants are performing inspirational songs. Not looking forward to that. The only thing American Idol inspires me to do is to listen to better music once the show is over. I don’t need happy handsome kids singing spiritually uplifting tunes. I need them butchering legitimate pop songs so I can ridicule the little brats and feel better about myself. Either way, I hope David sings a ballad—he’s so dreamy!

Inspiration
I’m losing my hair, my ability to care and my inspiration. I never knew how precious inspiration was until I had none. I have so little inspiration that getting out of bed is difficult and I have a very uncomfortable bed. Why should I have inspiration? I’m too old to start a career; too old to make a difference; too old to be relevant—at least that’s what our culture tells me. All that is left is to wait for the great beyond—a very uninspiring thought.
