It hurts when I bend over. Say tying my shoes or picking up a fallen fry off the carpet. What is up with that? No one told me that as I grew older bending would be difficult. Bending! What’s next? Turning? Bobbing? Tilting? When I bend over, especially for extended periods of time, my head, neck and shoulders ache and I grow dizzy. This is all a joke right? I just have a tape worm, or anthrax or a large growth on my sciatica, right? One of those is the real cause of my inability to bend over free of pain, right? Now, I do enjoy the intangible part of aging: the bitterness, the crankiness and overall disdain for life in all of its forms, but the physical limitations are not fun. Bending was one of my favorite things to do.
