Earth Day

My favorite part of Earth Day is this joke:

What did you do for Earth Day?
-Nothing, I was out of town!

Other than that, Earth Day is just a hallow, superficial, meaningless event—just like most of the environmental movement. I think some people get confused about their relationship to our planet. We are not here for the planet; the planet is here for us. While responsibility is key, a balance is needed and morality should be employed, we should feel guilty for being here or exploiting the planet’s resources. I least I never do.
